Praised for his charismatic and poetic playing, Julius Lorscheider is developing into one of the most exciting harpsichordists of his generation.

Julius studied harpsichord, basso continuo, clavichord, organ, and improvisation with Bob van Asperen, Menno van Delft, Kris Verhelst, and Pieter van Dijk in Amsterdam, with Jean-Marc Aymes, Yves Rechsteiner, and Dirk Börner in Lyon, and with Jörg-Andreas Bötticher and Andrea Marcon at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he completed his master's degree summa cum laude. In 2025, he was awarded a scholarship at the German Music Competition (Deutscher Musikwettbewerb).

He is the harpsichordist of the ensemble Luceram led by French violinist Hélène Schmitt, with whom he recorded a CD of J.S. Bach's violin concertos in 2022. From 2020-23, he was a member of the ensemble musica getutscht, performing with artists such as Emma Kirkby, Marc Mauillon, and Hana Blažíková. With the baroque orchestra formosa baroque under Ryo Terakado, he has performed in the most important concert halls in Taiwan.

As a sought-after chamber musician and continuo player with ensembles such as Dresdener Kammerchor, the Lautten Compagney Berlin, and the Belgian ensemble Musica Gloria, among others, he has performed at the Arp Schnitger Festival in Gothenburg, Festival de Musique Baroque de Froville, Ansbacher Bachwochen, Musica Sacra Maastricht, Thüringer Bachwochen, or the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. He has received invitations for solo recitals at the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam and the Aschaffenburger Bachtage, among others.

His ensemble Exclamatio Consort brings together young musicians together in their shared search for the emotional expression of 17th and 18th century music. In 2024, the eensemble was invited to perform at the Festival de Musique Sacrée de Nice.

From 2020 to 2023, Julius studied philosophy and sociology at the University of Basel.
