The Exclamatio Consort brings together young musicians in their shared quest to explore the emotional expression of 17th- and 18th-century music. Founded in 2024 on the initiative of Julius Lorscheider, the ensemble has been invited to perform at the Festival de Musique Sacrée de Nice, the Festival May Be Bach Lyon, and the Telemannfesttage in Magdeburg, among others.
With a focus on the repertoire of sacred music from 17th-century Germany, we aim to rediscover the rhetorical power of this music, entirely with the goal of “molding the listeners’ hearts […], almost like wax, into shapes of sadness, joy, mercy, anger, love, and other emotions” (Johann Kuhnau).

Johann Christoph Bach (1642-1703): Lamento "Ach, dass ich Wassers gnug hätte", live, Limoges, July 2024.
